European Union Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS)

| Each
year the EU organises this contest for the winners of
the national science contests held annually throughout
the EU member states. In addition, other countries are
invited to participate.
European School pupils are often prevented from participating
in their national contests as they may well be living
in another country and the contest may be at an inappropriate
time. The ESSS provides these pupils with the opportunity
to enter a science contest. We have negotiated with
the EU for them to invite our winner of the senior
oral contest to the EUCYS. Each year we now offer
all pupils in European Schools the same opportunity
for participation in the EUCYS that they would have
in their own country. Our pupils represent the European
Schools at the EUCYS, not their own country.

details about the EUCYS can be obtained from the following
