UCAS Timetable

 

The following is a guideline for students planning to study at University in the UK.

 

Year 6

Sept. to Feb.

Plan your year ahead.

Universities do not just look at your academic record. What you do for the school and the community, work experience  and personal active interests may be as important.

Meeting with UCAS Coordinator.

Visit Universities in the UK if possible. University Open Days all the year round

 

Research  courses and career options.

Use these school’s UCAS page. 

Borrow prospectuses from the Careers room.

Feb. to June

Attend Higher Education Fairs and visit Universities.

 

March

Make a provisional list of  Courses and Universities you want to apply to.

April/May

Interview with the careers advisor.

Receive feedback from careers advisor to help with choice of courses.

June

Register with UCAS online. You will be informed by the UCAS coordinator when to do this.

Year 7

September

 

 

Applicants for Oxbridge/Medicine/Dentistry/Vetenary complete Personal Statements and the online UCAS application form.

26th

Medicine/Dentistry. Last date to take the UK Clinical Aptitude Test

October

 

15th

Closing date for  Oxbridge/Medicine/Dentistry/Vetenary

 

Note: Medicine and  Vetenary – 4 choices plus 2 others

 

All others to complete their Personal Statement

November

 

 

Universities may request interviews from November onwards. 

1st

History Aptitude Test for Oxford

 

Apply for Gap Year

 

Finalize choice of 6 Courses for all other applicants

January

 

15th

– Closing date for UCAS entry

February

 

12th

Art and Design Courses – UCAS sends applications to first choice Universities.

March

 

 

If all offers received you make final choice of 2 Universities

 

If you have received no offers ‘EXTRA’ gives you 2 more chances

April/May

 

 

Apply for financial help towards the fees

 

Apply for accommodation at the Universities of your choice

 

 

July

 

 

European Baccalaureate results sent to Universities

August

 

 

Receive confirmation of  place at University

 

‘Clearing’ – if no offer confirmed.
