Gmail and GoogleApps

A special Google Apps account for the European School of Bergen has been set up at http://partnerpage.google.com/esbergen.org so that students and teachers can communicate by email, share documents, spreadsheets and multimedia presentations in a secure environment.

By the end of Year 1 you should be able to:

For Gmail

1) Send and receive emails with & without attachments.
2) Create labels and organize your emails into folders.
3) Learn how to deal with Spam and Trash.
4) Set up an automatic forwarding of all emails to your     parents.

Remember to write your name and class in the The 'Subject' Box

For each of the following:

  • Word Processing document  
  • Spreadsheet
  • Presentation


1) Open, write, save, rename and edit.
2) Upload and download files from your computer.
3) Share documents with others.

4) Organize your files into folders.

Note:
all the document programs above have less features than Microsoft Office and therefore when producing something in Office on your computer, it may not look the same when you upload it and view it on Google Apps.

For the Calendar
Add a range of events to your Calendar, for example
  
  The School Calendar
  Your weekly timetable
  Homework assignments
  Dates of tests
  

Open a new Google Doc
File --->New ---> Document and Investigate all the items in the Toolbar and Menus. Write a story and make each line look different.



Sharing Documents
Working in a group ? Work together online by 'sharing' a document
