New for 2003... The lions are back! Come and meet our two Asiatic lionesses in their wonderful enclosure. Critically endangered in the wild, they are now safe from extinction in conservation breeding programmes in zoos around Europe. Red ruffed lemurs Meet these fascinating animals, and find out why they are threatened in the wild, by walking through their amazing new enclosure that simulates a deforested area of Madagascar. New tiger enclosure See the tigers enjoying their newly refurbished habitat, complete with viewing platforms, aerial walkways and feeding poles - from May 2003. Play areas Two new play areas - Noah’s Ark near the start of the Zoo, and an activity area at the very top of the hill - so your little monkeys can go wild! All new animal experiences... from 5 April - end September 2003 Animal Antics Twice a day, marvel at real animals showing their amazing natural behaviours, in this specially devised new presentation - in the middle of the Zoo, near the chimpanzees. Meet the Animals Watch out for a surprise animal encounter around the Zoo - it could be Tango, our beautiful eagle owl, or maybe our new alpacas taking a stroll around the park. Meet the Keepers Your chance to really get close to a keeper and find out more about what they know best - the animals they look after! Keeper Talks At several times throughout the day, often at feeding time, catch these fascinating talks between our Keepers and our Education Officers, revealing the lives of some of our most exciting animals, including the penguins, rhinos, giraffes and chimpanzees. And the usual favourites... Birds of Prey Every day at 12.30pm - amazing displays of falconry at the hilltop (April-August) Penguin Parade Every day at 2.15pm (summer) and 12.40pm (winter) the penguins may come out on a stroll outside their enclosure!
