Year 6 and 7 Mathematics 5 Period
Mindmaps

To Students
Mind mapping mirrors the way the brain processes and stores information, and therefore using them should make it easier to recall information. Problem solving in Mathematics often means bringing together many strands of knowledge that are linked together, and mindmaps are an excellent tool to help prepare you for this.

Each of the images below links to the mindmap of the work covered in Mathematics 5 Period Course for Year 6 and 7.
On each mindmap there are links to resources to help you study many of the topics.

How else can you use these mindmaps?

  • When you have finished a topic in class draw a small mindmap of your own covering what you have studied.
  • There are formulae and algorithms to remember for the final exam, so a good preparation is to redraw the mindmap replacing the words with an appropriate diagram, formula, algorithm or keyword. If there is anything you have forgotten, you know what to revise.
  • When you have done this try to redraw the mindmap from memory. It does not have to look exactly like the one produced here but should contain all the necessary parts of the syllabus. Wherever possible again replace the words with pictures or a formula.
